Community Service 2026- 2027
AUGUST 2026 Aspire for Greatness
Aspire for greatness requests snack items in individual packaging: granola bars, cookies, cheese or peanut butter crackers and individual bags of chips. in addition to snack items, they can use Clorox wipes and paper products: paper plates, paper cups, and plastic silverware.
SEPTEMBER 2026 Lutheran Family Services
Items requested include household cleaning supplies along with paper towels. Hygiene products, shampoo and conditioner, and bodywash are items always in need for clients.
OCTOBER 2026 Roots to Wings
Items needed include Zip Lock bags (gallon and quart sizes), Swiffer Wet Jet products for mopping floors, Dawn dish soap, and garbage bags. They also will use nails and screws for wood projects, acrylic and spray paint, and wood stains. They will accept partial cans if they are in good condition.
NOVEMBER 2026 The Bridge
In November, the Bridge begins to think about Christmas gifts for their clients. Items suggested for donation include toys, board games, and books for all ages. Their ongoing needs include paper products, hygiene products, shampoo, and conditioners.
DECEMBER 2026 No Meeting
JANUARY 2027 Head Start
Items that are needed include: antibacterial wipes, Band-Aids, Kleenex, ear thermometer probes and ear thermometers, AA batteries, paper towels, binder clips, and blue painters tape. Childcare items include Safety clips to child proof, bike helmets, loop scissors, short pencils, board games, puzzles, books, markers, colored pencils and musical instruments. Fabric scraps of any size will be used as well.
FEBRUARY 2027 Duet
The clients at Duet enjoy spending time playing Bingo, so small items that can be used for Bingo prizes are requested. Some suggestions include any of the following: pens, mechanical pencils, markers, word search books, ponytail holders, name badge holders that retract, small hand sanitizer, and lotion bottles. They enjoy stickers, balloons, and notepads. Seasonal items as small items for Easter or Spring decorations would be a fun suggestion. Candy items and diet soda are always welcome as well.
MARCH 2027 Avenue of Flags
The Fremont Veterans Park and Avenue of Flags in Fremont stands as a poignant tribute to the nation's military heroes. The program, along with volunteers' line Military Avenue with hundreds of American Flags that once draped the caskets of fallen service members. The display occurs on National Holidays four times a year. The Fremont Veterans Park on Military Avenue further honors Veterans and serves to foster a deep sense of remembrance to ensure that military personnel are never forgotten. We will make a monetary donation to help support the upkeep of the flags and equipment to display them and the Veterans Park.
APRIL 2027 Old Poor Farm & Animal Sanctuary
Dog Food/treats, cat food/treats, kitten chow or milk replacer are welcome. Heavy duty rubber feed pans of all sizes are welcome as well as large pine chips for bedding. The Prairie Piecemakers collected money for the sanctuary in April of 2026 that was given in the form of a Bomgaars Gift Card.
