Workshop: Scrappy Diamonds with The Scrappy Farmer Vicky Beasley, 9 to 12:00, NE Quilt Company

Scrappy Diamonds is a great way to get your feet wet with foundation piecing/string piecing. There are always leftover strips or odd sized strips from previous projects that want to be put into a quilt! You can make it a “planned scrappy” or an “anything goes” kind of scrappy quilt. You can use paper or muslin for your foundation. Whichever you choose, your quilt will be completely unique! Start gathering your leftover bits, strips & chunks of fabric. I’m looking forward to coming & sharing my scrappy quilts with you & teaching you “Scrappy Diamonds”!

Program: The One-Patch Quilt Renaissance - Diamonds, Hexagons, Tumblers, Apple Cores, Pyramids, Kites... presented by Reeze Hanson

What began with the innovation of ready-made shapes for English paper piecing exploded with the introduction of die cutters and laser cutting techniques.  This program looks at how modern technology has made it possible to return to one of quilt-making’s oldest forms—the one-patch!

This talk is full of history, humor, evolution and revolution, and, oh yes, technology.  And of course, lots of quilts made from one-patch shapes.  You will also learn a bit about how to design and sew one-patch quilts, wetting your appetite to try one of these new classics from your old scrap bag!
